Welcome!

Welcome to Anacapa Yacht Club's "Wet Wednesdays" sailboat racing! We are pleased present you with this mid-summer race series and we hope you enjoy the racing and the fun afterward at the clubhouse every Wednesday from May through September. A few changes to the rules have been made this year, but the spirit of Wet Wednesday remains intact.

The Commodore and the Board of Directors want to emphasize once again that Wet Wednesdays are primarily for fun. It's important to keep this in mind when racing. We are all competitive by nature, but please show maximum courtesy to each other on the Wet Wednesday racecourse. This is not to say the rules are not to be followed, they must be, but we ask you all to compete with a friendly attitude. Race hard, go as fast as you can and have a good time.

Every yacht entering any or all Wet Wednesday race(s) MUST have marine insurance, a working VHF, identifying numbers on her headsail, hull or life lines, and an operable engine with enough fuel to render the yacht capable of returning to her moorage without assistance. By signing a Wet Wednesday entry form, the skipper affirms that these requirements have been met.

After the race be sure to come up to the famous Anacapa Yacht Club Wet Wednesdays cook-it-yourself (just the way you like it!) Bar-B-Q featuring savory steaks, hamburgers, Italian sausages, chicken breasts and turkey burgers with all the fixings, including Bar-B-Q beans, salad with choice of dressings, etc. Not only is the food delicious, but you can't find better company than your fellow racers. It's a great chance to see all your old sailing buddies, make some new friends, and swap some tall sailing yarns. Trophies will be awarded after each race and the races will be scored for the Wonderful Wet Wednesdays Series Perpetual Trophy, awarded at the last race of the series in September. We will continue our AYC tradition of drawing for crew prizes, so even if things don't work out on the race course, there is still a good chance of coming out a winner!

See you on the water!
