About

 Welcome…

to Anacapa Yacht Club, located in the beautiful Channel Islands Harbor. The club was formed in 1967 to establish a yachting organization in the Channel Islands area that emphasized sailing activities. Our primary focus is sailboat racing, but we also host a variety of social events and other activities. Please read and learn what Anacapa Yacht Club has to offer you – then “Come Sail with Us!”

Social Activities

Anacapa Yacht Club offers a full and varied social program. The atmosphere is casual. Dinners follow many of the weekend races, and a “cook-your-own” barbeque follows every Wet Wednesday race. Our holiday parties and Friday night dinners are popular events.

More formal events include the annual Opening Day Ceremonies in April and the Commodore’s Ball held each January.

Our clubhouse in Channel Islands Harbor is open for all members and guests to enjoy on weekends and holidays. It can also be reserved for special occasions, as well.

The Mainsheet, the club’s monthly newsletter, keeps members apprised of current activities.

Yacht Racing

Anacapa Yacht Club sponsors the most active yacht racing program in Channel Islands Harbor. Our annual races include the anacapa to Port Race, the Santa Barbara City Race & Tequila Derby – and of course the summertime Wet Wednesday Series. AYC also is a co-host of the Fall Series and TGIS Series.

Regular members racing in AYC races will have entry fees waived, including the Wet Wednesday Series. Entry fees are not waived for co-hosted races.

Crusining

With Channel Islands Harbor being the “Gateway to the Channel Islands”, cruising is an important aspect of the AYC activities. Several scheduled cruises are organized to the islands as well as to neighboring harbors.

Reciprocals

As a member of the Southern California Yachting Association (SCYA), our members enjoy full reciprocal privileges at sister Yacht Clubs throughout the world. We also offer reciprocal visitor privileges to other SCYA recognized organizations.

Youth Sailing

Anacapa Yacht Club has joined with other yacht clubs in the Channel Islands Harbor to form the Pacific Corinthian Youth Foundation. This foundation provides activities and sailing instruction for all interested youth and acts as a stepping stone to a lifetime of sailing enjoyment.

AYC is very proud of our junior racers. Many of our sailors have achieved significant success along the way, placing their names on various perpetual trophies. Several of our more experienced youth sailors have also volunteered their time and energy to help as instructors for the beginning students.

AYC is host to Thundering Thursdays, a midweek race held during the summer sailing program as well as several weekend races throughout the year.

Community

AYC supports community awareness of sailing and is involved in several local events such as the Disabled Veterans Appreciation Sail and the Caregivers Charity Sail-A-Thon. AYC promotes a clean environment and co-host a spring and fall Harbor Clean-Up Day. Local events in our area allow us the opportunity to promote sailing in the community aboard Done Deal the club’s Cal 20 sailboat.

Membership

AYC is a “hands on” club that relies on its membership through volunteerism to not only run and chair events but to partake in various duties at the club house.

This allows us lower annual dues with the same benefits and reciprocals as full service clubs, while building a sense of community among members. Boat ownership is not required.

Feel free to visit the club, meet the members and find out more about our activities. To join, please complete a membership application form and return it to Anacapa Yacht Club.

Membership fee $50
Annual Dues $450 or
Semi Annual Dues $237 Jan & July

Regular Members racing in AYC races will have entry fees waived, including Weet Wednesday races. Entry fees are not waived for co-hosted races.

Membership applications are available at the club or on our website. (coming soon to the website)

Join us for a meeting

General membership meetings are held on the fourth Friday of each month at the clubhouse. Informative programs include guest speakers and instructional programs covering a wide range of subjects of interest to yachters.

Member prepared dinners are hosted on most Friday evenings at the clubhouse. The dinners are a very special way to relax and socialize with fellow members and guests. Social hour is 6pm followed by dinner at 7pm.

Feel welcome to attend an AYC meeting and acquaint yourself with the members.
